Kingdom Hopper
For our original game idea, we had a multiplayer tag game "Tocal", where 'skilled professionals' gathered from all different types of universes to play a game of intense tag to hold the most points as the best "Runner", with the main project goal in mind being Competition.
Players would've been able to login to a server and play against another opponent in a one-on-one match of tag with a 3 minute time limit, with points being added to a player's score based on how long they are NOT the tagger, so the competition determines who's a better runner and tagger.
Unfortunately, we ran into issues with implementing a multiplayer server that wasn't local (way beyond our expectations and too many errors to try and fix), so we changed our idea to an endless runner called "Kingdom Hopper", similar to that of a dumbed-down Jetpack Joyride or Temple Run, the project goal swapping to Advancement & Completition. You're a lone adventurer running away from a fallen kingdom and the only way to survive is to keep running & jumping through the cliffs of the continent. While completion isn't really an achievable goal in an endless runner, the joy of being able to beat your high score as you get more comfortable with the jumping patterns of your player and really say "I'm so good at this game".
